CHRISTIAN SMITH

Christian Smith is one of the world’s leading exponents of techno. As both a DJ and producer, he is known for being bold, innovative, and relentlessly consistent. With his output in recent years, it is hard to imagine any list of prolific techno producers without his name near the top.

 

He has remained at the forefront of the scene for over two decades, defined by his trademark groovy and driving techno sound.

 

Although Swedish by birth, Christian spent much of his childhood in Frankfurt, Germany. The city’s rich electronic music culture undoubtedly shaped his musical tastes from an early age. After spending time in the United States studying, he moved to São Paulo, Brazil, where he began playing the city’s leading clubs and surrounding regions. Brazil remains one of his strongest territories, where he continues to enjoy a loyal and passionate following.

 

In 1995, Christian founded his label Tronic Music. Since then, it has become one of the most respected imprints in techno, consistently dominating charts with releases from Christian himself as well as artists such as ANNA, Enrico Sangiuliano, Paco Osuna, Drunken Kong, Wehbba and Ramon Tapia.
